Searches
When you search, we record the plate, state, your IP address, browser type and time. When you look up an address on the Can I park here? page, we record the address you entered, what it matched, the result, your IP address, browser type and time. We use this to prevent abuse, fix problems and improve the site, and delete it after 90 days.
To stop automated mass searching, we also keep a count of recent searches from each IP address. It holds only the IP address and the times of the searches, is deleted after a day without searches, and is used only to limit how many searches can be made in a short time.
To show your results without putting the plate in the address bar, the site sets a session cookie that holds your search only until the results are shown. The cookie is deleted when you close your browser. Your list of recent searches is kept only in your own browser and is never sent to us; you can clear it from the main page.
On the Can I park here? page, if you choose "Use my location", your browser shares your location with the site to find nearby curb cuts. That location and the nearest address are kept in the log described above, and deleted after 90 days.
