Can I Park Here? NYC Parking Map

Enter an NYC address or use your location to see what's around you before you park: driveway curb cuts (orange), fire hydrants, bus stops and parking signs. Use it as a guide to help you decide where to park. It's built from public records that aren't always complete or accurate, so always check the curb and posted signs. Remember: no parking within 15 feet of a hydrant, and never block a driveway.

How does it work?

Enter an address or tap Use my location. The map zooms in and shows:

Driveways and curb cuts come from NYC property and building permit records, and we map them to the best of our ability. The best way to verify a driveway is to look at the curb itself: if the curb isn't lowered, it's most likely not a legal driveway. Hydrants come from NYC's hydrant map, parking signs from NYC DOT, and bus stops from the MTA.

This map is a guide, not a guarantee. Always check the curb and posted signs before you park.

Frequently asked questions

How does this decide if I can park?

We read the nearest posted signs and compare them to the current time in New York. It's a guide, not a legal answer. Always read the signs on the block.

Why is a driveway missing?

Curb cuts come from building permit records, and not every driveway has one on file. We do our best to map driveways based on records. Before you park, check the curb: if it isn't lowered, it's most likely not a legal driveway.

How current is the sign data?

It comes from NYC DOT and is updated periodically. New or changed signs may not show yet.
